After about a month of preparation and planning emails between Denniel and I, the days leading up to his marriage proposal to Stacey provided some pretty nasty weather. Rain. Wind. Rain. Gross. If his perseverance and dedication to the plan are a sign of things to come, he and Stacey are destined for the loveliest marriage! Disguised as a weekend getaway for the couple, Denniel breased through the first part of the weekend as a ball of nerves just waiting to pop the question. As if the anxiety of the pending marriage proposal wasn’t enough, that fateful Saturday also threw us more nasty weather. Committed, we went through with the plan and were rewarded with a “no rain” situation! The wind was howling on the lakefront and it really wasn’t what I’d call a nice day but at least we weren’t soaked!
Well, Stacey said YES. Yay! Denniel and I pulled off the plan and as it goes with any marriage proposal I have ever photographed, it was exciting and a real honour to capture. Stacey was surprised to see me emerge from my hiding spot and was equally surprised that she was about to embark on an engagement photo session. Well done, Denniel!! We made some photos by the windy lakeside and then hopped up on to campus and hit a few spots around their old stomping grounds.
Moral of the story: make a plan -> stick to the plan -> forget about the weather -> achieve new marital status success.
