It’s true, a lot of my shoots are out in the woods. But, the first thing I tell any of my couples is to be true to yourself when picking a location for engagement photos. Since Christine and Jamie are a little more for the urban setting, a downtown Kingston engagement session it was! You see, it’s weird being photographed. It’s new to most people who hire me, so the best way to feel comfortable when some shmuck with a big-ass camera starts telling you what to do is to be in a location that feels good and is true to you as a couple. While I love shooting in the trees, I also love shooting among the beautiful, historic limestone buildings in our wonderful downtown ygk! Seriously, look around!
So, we’ve got the location dialled, now let’s talk about that light! Kind of like how the location doesn’t matter, neither does the light. I’m laser focussed on connection between you and your partner, so I don’t care if it’s sunny, cloudy, rainy or snowy. ummmmm….buuuut, if it’s a beaming sunset, well, I won’t complain! After what has been a pretty dark and dreary winter in good ol’ k-town, it was super fun to shoot in some dynamic, shiny light. I’m thinking that Christine and Jamie might agree. So come along on a stroll and see what we got up to on Christine and Jamie’s downtown Kingston engagement session. Stick with me ’til the end and you’ll find out what happens when we run out of light. Spoiler alert, it might have something to do with beer…cheers!
